FATHERS DAY

The wife of a good friend of mine wanted to know what to buy him for Fathers Day. Knowing he was gaining interest in woodworking I mentioned he’d probably like a jigsaw. She was the sort of woman who would only buy the best, so felt it probably didn’t need any further explanation.

Weeks after Fathers Day I got to hear the outcome of my advice – he eagerly opened his gifts and was somewhat surprised to find the children had bought him a 10,000 piece jigsaw with a wonderful image of St Pauls Cathedral.

sous videA more affordable entry into the wonders of sous vide cooking this bath will allow you to recreate some of Heston Blumenthal and Thomas Keller’s amazing dishes. You may have seen similar machines  being used by restaurants on Masterchef but put off with the price tag. This machine is designed for the serious home cook or smaller restaurant where space is at a premium but results and safety are paramount – temperature control is critical when cooking at low temps and this machine allows the user to leave the bath unattended overnight.

If you are like me and are unable to get to the post office to collect your parcels ordered over the internet let us assist. Use our address for delivery and we will hold your parcel until you are able to collect. This service is free to members and only $5/item to non members. We will trial this service for 2 months and obviously no liability will be accepted.
